Exclamation GW2 April fool's joke of all time!

Have we all been fooled?

Isn't it funny how we got to hear the huge news in april? I know of a couple of magazines that are always trying to pull a major prank in their April edition. All I'm saying is, GW2 smells fishy. What would your reaction be to a "We got you all real good" announcement by anet? post your thoughts.

umm, this wouldn't be a very funny april fools joke so i seriously doubt anet would do this. why would they risk losing players to guild wars just to play an april fools joke

Its not ONLY PC Gamer that cover this news, many other mags from other countries met with the head of Anet to get the scoop, so no, this isn't a bad joke. It's not a joke.

Why would there be a gigantic 13-page article in PC gamer, and multiple other magazines, for an April Fool's Joke?

A "prank" is something that is obviously false. A proper April Fools Prank done by a gaming magazine was the method to unlocking Sonic and Tails in Super Smash Brothers: Melee by getting 20 KOs in Cruel Melee (from Electronic Game Monthly in 2002). I think the overall faith in humanity dropped after that day.

GW2 is a massive marketing decision has been backed up by massive interviews with Jeff Strain.

Lol, April Fools only lasts until 12pm on April 1st, anyone who pranks after that time with regard to April Fools is considered a fool.

1. What exactly about GW2 smells fishy? Because it was announced around (Early March) April 1st? Dumb theory.

2. Umm wouldnt the "joke" be over by now?

3. Not really a funny joke is it?

4. Did I mention dumb theory?

1. its fishy because the campaigns were being so successful and they just cancelled them...

2. Why would it be?

3. I would laugh pretty damn hard...

4. yeah you did - try to keep track of your own words...

Umm no. I know people loooooove conspiracy theories, especially on this site . . . but I can't imagine that PC Gamer would put out a 13 page spread joke considering publishing a single color page runs roughly $150 per page to print. So that would be a very expensive April fool's joke to play in a May issue that wasn't released until April 3rd.

why aren't people picked off the streets and forced to do hard labor?

maybe this will bring the thread into a more meaningful and less retarded topic?

just why exactly do only IDIOTS post threads? seriously, what the hell is wrong with YOU (OP)

OMG dude! it was a "what if" question. I find it hilarious that people are getting flat out offended by the mere thought of it being a joke.

Please do not put serious thought into the question. You might want to come kill me if you do. I'm praying it wasn't a joke or I won't get to live long enough to play GW:EN

im sure it cost them more than 150$ but the amount of revenue they would have gotten back from selling so many copies... i could imagine that the issue sold ridiculously well... would have been plently to make up for it.
it would be a pretty awesome april fools joke if you ask me

What if Guld Wars doesn't exist? What if you don't exist? What if all of this is in my mind? What if you're just a brain in a jar with some electrodes connected to it and I don't exist and my question about you not existing is only meant to reinforce the absurdity of the whole idea in your mind so you'll continue to exist in a jar?
